How To Apply and Qualify For OSCE Scholarship for Peace and Security 2023

The goal of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Scholarship for Peace and Security in the OSCE Area is to give young workers, especially women, the skills they need to work in the security field, especially in the field of political and military security.

The focus of the course is on preventing, resolving, managing, and recovering from conflicts. This is done through arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation, with the goal of building trust and security in the OSCE area.

The OSCE Scholarship for Peace and Security training programme is for young professionals from all over the OSCE area. It is a 9-week online course housed on the OSCE E-Learning Platform and focuses on tools for preventing and solving conflicts in the region.

In particular, you will learn about international organisations that work on arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation; politico-military confidence- and security-building measures; global and regional efforts to stop the spread of weapons of mass destruction and conventional weapons and ammunition; preventing and fighting violent extremism and radicalization that can lead to terrorism; means of modern warfare; and other new threats to peace and security. You don’t need to know anything about those things already.

Info on the Scholarship

The training plan has two parts: a nine-week, inquiry-based online course that starts on May 29, 2023, and a one-week, in-person course in Vienna in the fall of 2023 that is only open to successful women graduates.

The Training Program will be held in English and give an overview of how to prevent and solve conflicts through arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation, with a special focus on OSCE-related tools to break the cycle of violence in the area.

This course is for young workers between the ages of 22 and 32 who have at least a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent university degree.
The one-week course in Vienna, which will only be open to successful online grads who are women, is planned for the fall of 2023.

The online course will take place from May 29 to July 28, 2023. It is set up so that it won’t interfere with full-time or part-time classes or work.
